About GlobalIPCo
GlobalIPCo is a software development company that develops IP-related systems.
Instead of licensing its systems to IP firms for a royalty, GlobalIPCo collaborates with firms jointly to develop and launch new online IP products.
Collaborations
GlobalIPCo’s first collaborative project was in South Africa, where its collaboration with S&Z Patent Attorneys increased S&Z’s South African patent filings by 1548% in two years, making S&Z the #1 filer of patents in sub-Saharan Africa.
In 2022, GlobalIPCo collaborated with Crown & Shields to create the SANi Patent. This collaboration is steadily increasing the number of Nigerian patent filings and is expected to mature during the second half of 2023.
At the end of 2022, GlobalIPCo, Samuriwo and Atanga entered into an open collaboration to group SANi, ARIPO and OAPI patents and trademarks and create an “African” IP solution.
During February 2023, GlobalIPCo launched its first collaborative European product (online EU Registered Community Design) with Genuine IP Law (a Spanish IP firm), which will be followed by collaborations with German and UK IP firms.
GlobalIPCo’s contributions
GlobalIPCo:
- has developed online platforms for filing (and prosecuting to grant) patents, trademarks and designs. These platforms minimise administrative activities associated with IP applications. For example, S&Z is able to process +4,500 patents per year with the assistance of one administrative person half-day;
- is “plugged into” more than 100 Chinese law firms, providing direct access to the Chinese market; and
- processes +5,000 patent, trademark and design applications per year.
Its software development team is headed by a qualified patent attorney with 8 years of patent experience, and requires little input to develop high-quality online systems.
Start a collaboration
If you:
- are an IP firm with a history of providing a quality service;
- are dynamic, able to make decisions quickly;
- have identified a unique IP-opportunity for your market;
- require online platforms to realise the opportunity; and
- expect to gain traction in the Chinese market,
contact GlobalIPCo to discuss.
Opportunities associated with a low level of prosecution activities (e.g. responses to office actions) and a short timeline (i.e. less than 12 months from filing to completion) are preferred.
Don’t be shy about being a “small firm” – this makes you adaptable; quick to make decisions; and less encumbered by legacy interests – all positive attributes.
If GlobalIPCo agrees to collaborate, GlobalIPCo will absorb its own costs relating to software development and work with you to create and launch a new online IP product … with the entire GlobalIPCo network stepping up to assist with marketing.
