KFC adword: “CHICKEN LICKEN MENU – KFC” Seriously?
How cheeky is this? KFC uses a Google Adword:
“CHICKEN LICKEN MENU”
And, then pays top dollar to ensure that this Adword appears at the top of the Google search page when you are searching for a “Chicken Licken Menu”. Instead of satisfying your craving for delicious Chicken Licken Hot Wings, you could easily end up with not-so-delicious KFC Hot Zinger Wings.
“Chicken Licken” is a registered trademark of Golden Fried Chicken (Pty) Ltd. Although KFC is allowed to use “CHICKEN, LICKEN, HOT, WINGS” as Adword Keywords, the use of CHICKEN LICKEN in the actual Ad text is not permitted. Surely, you don’t often get a clearer case of trademark infringement than this.
