S&Z taps SimTM to provide trademark monitoring services for its renewal system

S&Z, which manages renewal of +13,000 intellectual property records, has selected SimTM to generate monitoring reports for trademarks on S&Z’s trademark renewal system.

Why SimTM?

SimTM automatically obtains published trademark data within a day of publication in a trademark journal.

SimTM also provides an extensive technology package that “plugs into” existing renewal systems. SimTM’s product offering is highly customisable, enabling S&Z to select:

• trademark monitoring modules it wishes to use (e.g. webpage generation, online watching search facility and monitoring emails);
• African countries it wishes to incorporate; and
• alert sensitivity level (i.e. most relevant, relevant, of interest, additional).

Unlike other trademark monitoring technology providers, SimTM does not charge per trademark monitored or report generated, enabling S&Z to provide trademark monitoring services to its wide range of clients.

SimTM modules selected by S&Z

Since SimTM’s webpage generation and search modules have already been implemented by GlobalIPCo, S&Z has only implemented the email alert module for South African, Nigerian and OAPI trademarks.

Within a day of publication of a trademark journal, the email alert module enables S&Z to send a single email to its trademark renewal clients, alerting them to “most relevant” trademarks published that are similar to trademarks in their S&Z / IdeaNav renewal portfolio.
