Processing
SimTM uses its proprietary technology to encode and store all trademark data received. This encoding step enables SimTM to perform watching searches extremely efficiently.
Efficiency is key to the SimTM system, as this enables:
- a database of hundreds of thousands of trademarks to be compared against a database of tens of thousands of trademarks within less than a second;
- webpage reports to be dynamic, loading real-time content on opening;
- search results to be generated nearly instantaneously; and
- tens of thousands of email reports to be generated within a matter of seconds.
Being able to generate results in real-time means that:
- SimTM does not need to store results / reports, making the system extremely “light on memory”;
- SimTM is able to create an unlimited number of low-kb dynamic webpage reports in seconds for Google to index; and
- SimTM is very “light on server CPU usage”.
The SimTM system has also been designed easily to integrate with partner firms’ renewal systems, email systems and websites.

Partnering with SimTM
SimTM does not provide services to trademark owners directly. Instead, SimTM makes its technology available to law firms and trademark filing and renewal systems to enable its partners to expand their service offering to clients.
Instead of charging per trademark monitored or per report generated, SimTM uses its technology to create a network of law firms and system providers.

For instance, SimTM has partnered with GlobalIPCo to:
- Bolster GlobalIPCo’s +35% per annum (compounded) growth in South African trademark filings over each of the past four years
- Package trademark watching services (offered through PayAnnuity) with its trademark renewals at no additional cost, i.e.:
| PayAnnuity Service | Cost |
|---|---|
| South African trademark renewal cost: | $49 |
| Nigerian trademark renewal cost: | $94 |
| South African / Nigerian trademark watching search: | Free |
- Create +60,000 webpage watching search reports (2026) for indexing by Google
