How to create patent drawings using AI
GlobalIPCo tested various AI options to create patent drawings, in particular South African provisional patent drawings.
Many of the AI options, such as ChatGPT, were disappointing, Whereas, ChatGPT is brilliant for drafting very good patent specifications, it is terrible at creating patent drawings.
To create really good patent drawings using AI, try Nano Banana. To illustrate the power of Nano Banana, we provided a few simple prompts for inventions we asked ChatGPT to draft. This is what Nano Banana created:
Prompt: “Give me patent drawings for barbecue tongs with a flashlight.”

Prompt: “Give me patent drawings for an alarm that is linked to a bus timetable so that, if the bus is late, the alarm wakes me up later.”

Prompt: “Give me patent drawings for a ring with a teflon coating on the inside to facilitate removal of a ring from a finger.”

Inventors can now easily draft their own patents (with drawings) without the cost of a patent attorney.
